Building on the enormous success of the original Volca FM, this updated model doubles the voices of its predecessor, adds additional effects, and offers MIDI velocity sensitivity with expanded connectivity.

With 6-voice polyphony, Volca FM2 lets you sequence rich chords and arpeggios. Velocity sensivity via MIDI adds dynamic, expressive control to your music production.

Classic Sys-Ex compatibility

Fully compatible with DX7 Sys-Ex files, featuring six operators and 32 algorithms for classic FM sounds and easy loading of SYS-EX/SYX files.

Sequencing and connectivity

16-step sequencer with motion capture, pattern storage, MIDI IN, and TRS MIDI OUT lets you loop, tweak, and control external gear for dynamic live performance.

Powerful onboard effects

In addition to chorus, the new Volca FM2 includes a shimmering new reverb. This classic combination of effects can be adjusted individually to bring a finishing touch to both legendary and new FM sounds.

Easy sound creation

Modulator and carrier knobs simplify FM editing, mapping controls to key parameters. Full editing is also possible, with a Parameter Guide included for deeper tweaks.

Creative performance functions

Volca FM2 adds a program randomiser for fresh patch ideas, warp active step for complex rhythms, and pattern chaining for sequences up to 256 steps.

The compact Volca FM is a powerful, velocity sensitive via MIDI, 6-operator synth with 6-voice polyphony making it possible to play, sequence or arpeggiate complex chords and to use the internal sequencer to control other devices through MIDI via a TRS to MIDI jack (sold seperately)
The 16-step looping sequencer lets you record performances directly as you play PLUS the Volca FM incorporates motion sequencing making it possible to capture subtle nuances of playing and control changes in real time
Volca FM perfectly reproduces the sound engine of DX7. Six operators and 32 algorithms provide complete compatibility, just load in the SYS-EX/SYX from DX7 and you are ready to go!
